Garrett Clarke to QMJHL

Heath Hotzler wrote in today's GrandForks Herald that Garrett Clarke will back out of his verbal commitments to the USHL Fargo Force and UND to go play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. This decision will make him ineligible for NCAA college hockey.

I am not so sure this is a big a loss as losing Toews would have been but it hurts. That being said it sounds like Blaiser was pretty upset with him.

Agreed! I think it’s more of the reneging of the commitment to play. I’m sure Blais was “counting his chickens…….” Lesson learn about dealing with 15 year olds.

It's a loss however Blais shouldn't be that upset, he did comment that Clarke probably wouldn't have been a starter next year at 15 years old. So why be upset, the kid is only 15, Blais needs to relax and move on

The thing that kills me is UND is a good school if you want to go to the NHL or the next step. Good luck in Lewiston.
